Amanda Whatley  and her family moved to the Emerald Coast from Hollywood California in 2004.  Amanda and Jason are the parentsof two children affected by autism spectrum disorders (ASD) They has a 8-year-old son who was diagnosed with Aspergers at age 5, and a 6-year-old son recently identified as being on the spectrum. Amanda and Jason have  been married for ten years and also have a 13 year old daughter named Arianna who loves to volunteer with Autism related projects and recently arranged a Hat Day at her school.

Amanda has jumped in with both feet and joined the Navarre Chamber and also planned a very successful Zoo day.  She is now working on a surf camp for children with disabilities.

Amanda is now using her strong legal background to address the issues facing autism and those affected by it. Amanda has BS in Administrative Justice.  She hopes to go back to school to become a civil rights attorney.   She is actively involved in Autism advocacy, awareness education,  building community relationships and inclusion with those affected by autism and their families. Amanda recently graduated form the Northwest Florida Crisis Intervention Team Training Program. She is now available to advocate for People with Autism in crisis situations and is on call with the local Sherrif's Department.  She also teaches local law enforcement about Autism and Related Disabilities in their CIT Training Classes.

Amanda is actively involved as an advocate for her own children, as well as on behalf of others who are unable to advocate for themselves. Her vision is to help Emerald Coast Autism Society address the multi-faceted needs of those affected by autism and  make information accessible to everyone.
